You’re all set! Check out directions on how to use the Gantt Chart below.

 DIRECTIONS:

Your gantt chart will make it incredibly easy to plan, track and communicate your schedule with your entire team of sub-contractors and vendors. Being prepared and creating a detailed schedule for your team and sub-contractors will show your seriousness as a first-time home builder and make their lives much easier. Trust me, they will greatly appreciate this!

Diving right in, the template is broken out into four sections:

 1.   Building Permit Requirements
2.    Project Start (Dry-In)
3.    Trades
4.    Finish

These four sections also correlate with the modules in the course to help keep you organized and moving forward.

Once you are ready to start, enter your project start date in Row 3, Column E, which will auto-populate to all of the various tasks and the required time each will take. Don’t worry if you need to add a few days here and there, as this is meant to serve as guideline. It is completely normal for you to add extra time or take days away with tasks you finish early.

After your project start date is in place, you will be ready to review your timeline! Again, if you know certain tasks are going to take longer or shorter, feel free to adjust accordingly. Of course, should your project timeline change, be sure to communicate this to all of your sub-contractors and vendors to ensure full transparency across your team.

You are now ready to start you build, congratulations!
